Scuba Diving

Diving is probably the most original form of movement under water. It allows us to go down to another world and discover it. 71% of the earth's surface is covered by water and its depths are the least known areas on this planet.

Diving meanwhile encloses most different areas. From professional diving to competition diving up to the scuba dive, it‘s popular everywhere.

We need great technical equipment which allows us this trip under water. The diver experiences something so special and so rare, the feeling of weightlessness. He enters a slow motion world in which he can observe his environment and concentrate upon himself. He feels his heartbeat and every breath.

Diving offers you numerous adventures under water. Starting with normal diving in the midst of a reef with its inhabitants to wreck diving and exploring sunken "treasures" up to night diving with its fascinating facets.

Feel like Jacques Cousteau in his own world. And one thing is sure, once you started you can‘t stop.

The Maldives

The Maldives ( /ˈmɒldaɪvz/ or /ˈmɒldiːvz/), (Dhivehi: ދިވެހިރާއްޖެ Dhivehi Raa'je) or Maldive Islands, officially Republic of Maldives, is an island nation in the Indian Ocean formed by a double chain of twenty-six atolls stretching in a north-south direction off India's Lakshadweep islands, between Minicoy Island and Chagos Archipelago. It stands in the Laccadive Sea, about seven hundred kilometers (435 mi) south-west of Sri Lanka.

The atolls of the Maldives encompass a territory spread over roughly 90,000 square kilometers, making it one of the most disparate countries in the world. It features 1,192 islets, of which two hundred are inhabited. The Republic of Maldives's capital and largest city is Malé, with a population of 103,693 (2006). It is located at the southern edge of North Malé Atoll, in the Kaafu Atoll. It is also one of the Administrative divisions of the Maldives. Traditionally it was the King's Island, from where the ancient Maldive Royal dynasties ruled and where the palace was located.

The Maldives is the smallest Asian country in both population and area. With an average ground level of 1.5 metres (4 ft 11 in) above sea level, it is the lowest country on the planet. It is also the country with the lowest highest point in the world, at 2.3 metres (7 ft 7 in).

Aisha/ MV Aisha

The MV Aisha is the main ship of this diving safari. It is a 28-m-long motorboat with 320 HP Yanmar inside board engine. Furthermore the MV Aisha has a water treatment installation with approx. 150 l/h which covers the freshwater care aboard and in addition, 2 Onan whispering generators for the electricity supply. There are 3 decks on board of the MV Aisha. On the lower deck there are four 2 bed and two 3 bed cabins all of them equipped with shower and WC.

On the middle deck the lounge offers a lot of entertainment possibilities to the guests just as radio, flat screen television and DVD player. The captain cabin and the board kitchen in the back of the ship are also located here. The highlight of the main deck though is the broad and open front area with a lot of space to lay down, recover and relax. Food and beverages are served here.

From the upper deck, the solar deck, the guests have a great view of what is going on around the boat and it‘s probably the best place to tan. The crew is accommodated in the back of this deck but separated from the guests.

Lau

Based on onomastics, the surname Lau comes from Saxony and Lower Saxony and is the 482^nd most frequented surname in Germany. Lau is the surname of the owner of the MV Aisha, Hardy Lau who not just manages the tours aboard but also on the basis of his profession as a Diving Instructor Certifier holds diving courses, skill enhancements and further trainings. Hardy Lau stands for decades of experience in various fields of diving with its roots in the military.

Diving Boat

A Diving Boat is a boat which is primarily used for diving journeys. It has to have a certain equipment so that it can be used for this purpose. It has to offer enough space for the divers and their equipment. A Diving Boat should at least have a suitable ladder or a platform which simplifies getting in and out of the water. Also a decompression stop pole in appropriate depth is necessary. Further are the most different medical emergency devices required like oxygen care and first aid boxes. In addition, the boat needs technical tools like GPS and mobile communication to the mainland. Going on excursions of several days a diving bottle compressor is necessary.

Safari Dive

A Safari Dive is a diving vacation of several days, usually on a diving boat like the MV Aisha. Groups of divers can head for most different diving places and areas during this journey.

The diving vacation is a very popular way among divers and diving friends to spent their holidays together. There are a lot of places you can go for an adventure like this but the diving vacation on the MV Aisha will remain unforgotten to you.

Diving Course

But before having the pleasure of diving, there is a diving course to be passed. This diving course is offered by different organizations worldwide, lasts several days and provides every future diver the abilities to move safe, reliable and responsible under water. The diving course encloses theoretical as well as practical education. The tools of diving are explained to the diver, the use of the diving apparatus is taught and also physical aspects are going to be pointed out. The diving course concludes with a theoretical and practical final exam.
